Privacy Policy.
Tax strategy work requires us to handle some of your most sensitive information. This page explains exactly what we collect, why, how we protect it, and the rights you have over it.
Last updated: May 15, 2026
1. Who we are
Arqon Tax (“Arqon Tax,” “we,” “us”) is a technology-enabled tax strategy firm operating in the United States. We are bound by the confidentiality and disclosure rules of Internal Revenue Code §7216, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act Safeguards Rule, IRS Publication 4557, and applicable state privacy laws.
2. Information we collect
To prepare returns and provide strategy services, we collect:
- Identity & contact data — name, address, email, phone, Social Security or ITIN numbers, dates of birth.
- Financial data — wages, business income, investment activity, deductions, credits, bank routing information for refunds or payments, prior-year returns.
- Engagement data — meeting notes, document uploads, communication history, signed engagement letters.
- Site & analytics data — IP address, browser type, pages visited, time spent. We use this only to operate and improve arqontax.com; we do not sell or share it for advertising.
3. How we use your information
We use the information you provide solely to:
- Prepare and file your federal and state tax returns.
- Design and execute the tax strategies described in your engagement.
- Communicate with you about your engagement, deadlines, and relevant changes in tax law.
- Meet our legal, regulatory, and professional obligations (recordkeeping, anti-fraud, response to lawful requests).
We never use your tax data for advertising, profiling, or training third-party AI models.
4. When we share your information
Under IRC §7216, we cannot disclose or use the information in your return for any purpose other than tax preparation without your specific written consent. With that as the baseline, we share data only when:
- You direct us to — for example, transmitting your return to the IRS or a state taxing authority on your behalf.
- The law compels it — valid subpoena, court order, or regulatory request.
- A service provider is involved — secure document portals, e-signature, and tax software vendors, each under written confidentiality agreements and never authorized to use your data for their own purposes.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with marketers.
5. How we protect your information
We follow the IRS Publication 4557 Written Information Security Plan model and the GLBA Safeguards Rule. In practice that means: access-controlled storage, encryption in transit and at rest, multi-factor authentication for client portals, audit logging on sensitive systems, and an annual review of our controls. Staff are trained on data-handling rules before they receive any client data.
6. How long we keep your information
We retain tax records for a minimum of seven years from the filing date, in line with IRS recordkeeping recommendations and most state retention rules. Engagement documents and communications related to long-term planning strategies are retained for the duration of the strategy plus seven years. You may request earlier deletion of records that are no longer required by law.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccuracies in that information.
- Request deletion of records no longer legally required (subject to the retention rules above).
- Withdraw consent for any §7216 disclosure you previously authorized.
- Receive notice of any data breach affecting your information, as required by federal and state law.
To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We respond within 30 days.
8. Cookies & site analytics
arqontax.com uses strictly necessary cookies (session, security) and lightweight first-party analytics so we can see which pages help prospects and clients. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-site trackers.
9. Children
Our services are designed for individuals 18 and over and business owners of all sizes. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through our site, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our practices change or the law requires it. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Material changes that affect existing clients will also be communicated by email.
